Welcome to the homepage of Animalia, the exciting new Latin reader!
Discover the delights of Latin literature through twenty-four short passages about the lion, the bee, the dolphin, and the horse! Readings range from the first century B.C. to the eighteenth century A.D. Within each chapter the passages are arranged in order of difficulty, intermediate to advanced. Comprehension is facilitated by extensive glosses and notes, printed opposite the texts, and by a wide variety of attractive illustrations. All text is in Latin to create an immersive linguistic experience, but Animalia can be used by students who have learned Latin through any method. A Latin-English dictionary that includes every word in the book appears at the end.
